On 19 September we celebrated our 50th anniversary with a large event featuring memories and surprises specifically aimed at colleagues and friends of the Group, which also had numerous guests from local institutions. The event, which took place in the Torrevieja International Auditorium, was hosted by the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig, who spoke of TM as “one of the most important companies in the Valencian Community”.
Under the slogan, “50 Years with you on the Horizon”, the festivities brought together more than 700 people, including employees, partners, suppliers, clients, institutions, and friends. Through videos, performances, testimonies, and the humour of Carlos Latre, guests at the event, hosted by the Valencian TV presenter, Maribel Vilaplana, were able to take a journey through the most important moments in the group’s history, its growth, and its future plans, pay tribute to the founder, José Luis Serna, and the family values upheld by his wife, Joaquina Lorente, as well as highlight the values which make up the very heart of the company.
Guests included well-known personalities such as the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, the president of the Alicante Provincial Council, mayors from the region, senior figures from the Generalitat, members of the Congress and Senate, the rectors of the University of Alicante and Miguel Hernández University, as well as the heads of the main business organisations, such as the Alicante Chamber of Commerce, the Valencia Business Confederation (CEV), the Association of Alicante Family Companies (AEFA), and the Association of Alicante Real Estate Developers (PROVIA).
Ángeles Serna, group president, opened the event by stating that one of TM’s biggest successes was the ability to run the company ethically, transparently, and responsibly, in addition to adapting to change whilst staying true to its values. In this respect, she mentioned the company’s commitment to the Global Compact on Human Rights and the 2030 Agenda, as well as other initiatives. Furthermore, Pablo Serna, TM managing director, highlighted the financial prudence shown by the Group in tackling the different stages of its growth and its commitment to specific niche markets.
A special evening which ended with a spectacular fireworks display to pay tribute to everyone who has made the company what it is today.
