Yesterday we signed a collaboration agreement with the PayaSOSpital solidarity project to bring joy to children hospitalised at the Alicante General Hospital.
For more than 20 years, PayaSOSpital, in coordination with health personnel, pay weekly visits to children admitted to the main public hospitals in the Valencian Community who are affected by different illnesses. This social action is carried out with the aim of improving their quality of life using fun, fantasy, affection and lots of laughter.
With the health crisis, the association had to suspend face-to-face visits. Nevertheless, they have continued to bring smiles to the little patients’ faces, as well as their relatives and health personnel of the Faith and the Clinic of Valencia. The General Hospitals of Alicante, Castellón and Elche were also involved in these visits, through Instagram Lives and more than 100 video calls offering performances for the children, thanks to the #SonrisasdesdeCasa initiative.
Now, with the authorisation of the health authorities, they are resuming visits to some of the 8 centres they visited periodically.
In 2019, the association carried out 20,859 medical visits to hospitalised minors in eight hospitals which involved a total of 3,022 hours of therapeutic intervention aimed at the admitted children, their families and health personnel, using artistic resources such as music, songs, theatre, games, puppets or soap bubbles.
