• Facilities totalling 3,000m2 have been built, equipped with the most advanced machinery and energy-efficient technology, thanks to an initial investment of 1.5 million Euros. • Las Moreras specialises in packaging, marketing, and exporting own-label, white-label, and third-party products, and in online sales and direct sales through a gourmet shop.
TM Grupo Inmobiliario, a leading company in the residential tourism sector in Alicante, specialising in the construction and promotion of second homes along the Mediterranean coast, expands its agricultural business line with the launch of ‘Las Moreras Fruit & Veggies’.
Las Moreras Fruit & Veggies is the evolution of the group’s agricultural division, created in 2009 to use the rural lands on its estates.
Now, the company has gone one step further by branching out into the packaging, marketing, and export of its own-label, white-label, and third-party products, in addition to launching online sales and direct sales through a gourmet shop. All this aims to get the most out of the farms that the company already runs while offering service and support to local producers and contributing to the sustainable development of the Vega Baja del Segura region.
The new brand incorporates the name of one of the group’s most iconic farms, Las Moreras, located between Almoradí and Los Montesinos, where pioneering initiatives in agricultural management have been taking place since the 19th century.
Las Moreras Fruit & Veggies gained momentum by constructing a modern warehouse of more than 3,000 m2 with expansion possibilities and an initial investment of 1.5 million euros. The facilities are equipped with the latest machinery and energy efficiency technology to commercialize both traditional and organic citrus fruits at the source.
Currently, the agricultural division has more than 150 hectares in operation on different Vega Baja farms. It grows mainly lemons, oranges, mandarins, limes of different varieties, almonds, and vegetables.
For Las Moreras Fruit & Veggies, sustainability is the guiding principle. The plant, located on the farm’s grounds, enables, on the one hand, the reduction of time between harvesting and packaging, ensuring the freshness of the product, and on the other, total control over the process, guaranteeing the highest quality. Water resources are sustainably managed, and the latest generation of photovoltaic roof panels have been installed. In addition, we have a local team with extensive experience in the sector.
With a local, regional, and national presence, we export to European markets such as Holland, Poland, Italy, Denmark, France, and Malta, among other countries. In this last year, exports outside the EU, began with great success, to Colombia. In the short term, the company seeks to consolidate expansion at a local and national level and open other markets such as the United Kingdom and Germany.
In the words of Jesus Serna, general director of Diversification “the farmland in Vega Baja is rich and some of the best in our country. The primary sector, and specifically the citrus sector, is very mature and very changeable. We are aware that there is a lot of competition and that the most significant challenge is to have an infrastructure that guarantees the traceability, freshness, and essence of the product to allow the local farmer to bring their products closer to the international market.” “During these first months, in addition to launching the new activity, we are working on closing agreements with new partners to increase production and marketing and continue to establish strategic alliances.”
