TM Real Estate Group, a leading company in the residential tourism sector in Alicante, specialising in the construction and development of second homes along the Mediterranean and Caribbean coasts, is taking the concept of healthy living and sustainable urbanism a step further with its latest project, Riomar Healthy Living.
Situated in the province of Alicante, a stone’s throw from the Mil Palmeras beach, between the towns of Campoamor and Torre de la Horadada, this innovative residential concept consisting of fully equipped care apartments is unique in that all its services are focused on promoting well-being and an active and healthy lifestyle.
One of the main factors the developer considered when planning this project was the environment in which it is located: a natural space boasting native vegetation, which alongside the benefits provided by the sea and the area’s fine climate, makes it yet another example of the quality of life to be had on the Costa Blanca. In fact, according to a study by the OECD (Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development), by 2050 Spain will have the seventh-highest life expectancy in the world—93 years—surpassed only by South Korea, Estonia, Ireland, Turkey, Slovenia and Luxembourg. These figures, combined with the excellent Spanish geography, climate and gastronomy, have boosted purchases from elsewhere in Europe in the Spanish residential tourism sector, which sold 45,000 homes to the European market during the first half of the year, with the province of Alicante being highest in demand, with 15,930 homes sold in the same period.
In addition, this differential complex adds to the other sustainable projects that the company has developed, demonstrating its firm commitment to sustainable construction. Thus, TM continues to opt for low-pollution materials for the construction process, well-insulated facades and low-cost lighting; the installation of sanitary devices and water-saving taps, use of photovoltaic panels to generate electricity and prevent CO2 emissions, solar radiation protection systems, cross and dual-flow ventilation, aerothermal systems for HVAC and solar panels; residential parks with large landscaped areas featuring native plants that require less water; systems for reusing rainwater and grey water, as well as stretches of water in common areas to cool down the urbanisation.
Sustainable urban planning is another focus of TM as part of its commitment to the environment, which has led it to develop projects such as the installation of smart city features in Playa de Poniente in Benidorm (Alicante), an environmental recovery project for the Playa de la Entrevista coastline in Pulpí (Almería), the Playa de la Cola project in Águilas (Murcia), which involved creating a scenic route via natural paths, a reforestation campaign in which more than 10,000 trees were planted and a sea turtle conservation initiative in Puerto Morelos (Mexico), where the company’s hotel division is based.
In the words of Miguel Ángel Quiles Alfosea, Sales and Marketing Director at TM Real Estate Group: “The development of sustainable construction and urban planning projects is one of TM Real Estate Group’s main lines of strategic action. In this way, we contribute to creating communities, cities and homes that address environmental and social issues and offer a higher quality of life to residents. We have applied all these principles to our latest Riomar Healthy Living project and we are confident that our clients will recognise this.”
