TM Real Estate Group participated in the Second Iberian Home Summit, held as part of the Madrid International Real Estate Exhibition (SIMA), where it analysed the current situation in the residential tourism market.
The Chair of TM Real Estate Group, Ángeles Serna, took part in the round table on “The DNA of the International Customer”, moderated by Alex Radford, founder and partner of My Lawyer in Spain, along with other experts from the property sector such as François Carriere, CEO of Coldwell Banker Spain & Andorra and Marc Pritchard, Sales Director at Taylor Wimpey Spain.
Aspects such as the DNA of the current buyer of coastal residential products, how new technologies are influencing sales processes, how Brexit is affecting British demand, and the factors to take into account in order to generate long-term sustainable demand, were some of the key topics analysed during the event.
As Ángeles Serna explained during her speech, “the foreign customers providing the largest number of sales transactions in Spain come from the United Kingdom, France and Germany. These customers have historically shown behaviour that is extremely loyal to the coastal areas, which is epitomised by their presence on the Costa Blanca, Costa del Sol and Balearic Islands”. These buyers are aged between 45 and 55 and have an average budget of EUR 250,000, according to the calculations of TM Real Estate Group.
All the speakers agreed that the preferences when purchasing a second home depend largely on the nationality of the buyers. They also mentioned that the average profile of these foreign buyers is a person aged around 50 who prefers properties in coastal provinces.
