TM Grupo Inmobiliario, through The Fives Hotels & Residences by TM and The Fives Foundation, continues to display its social commitment in Mexico with the inauguration of the José Luis Serna New Noh-Bec Children’s Garden, named in honour of the company’s founder.
This project, involving an investment of almost 6 million Mexican pesos, will be benefiting 180 children of Colonia Noh-Bec, located on the outskirts of Playa del Carmen and considered as one of the most disadvantaged areas in the region. The school will give local people new spaces for the integral development of infants beginning their education.
The facilities include 6 fully equipped classrooms with a capacity for 30 students each, offices for school management, toilets for teachers and students, a dining area, gardens and a large central courtyard.
The inaugural ceremony took place last Sunday, 9th September, attended by the Municipal Solidarity Chairwoman, Cristina Torres, the General Director of TM Real Estate Group in Mexico, Joaquín Serna, as well as managers, collaborators, teachers and parents.
The Municipal Chairwoman thanked TM Real Estate Group for “their support for education as an essential tool to build a better society, in an area where the law prohibits government action, and where only thanks to private initiative, as fostered by the The Fives Group, can we contribute to development and prosperity.”
In turn, TM Real Estate Group General Director Joaquín Serna expressed his enthusiasm in continuing the legacy of the Group’s founder: “My father always prioritised children’s education,” he stated, thanking the entire team contributing to this project, and expressing his gratitude in becoming part of the history of the Noh-Bec community.
The inauguration of the infant school is part of the first phase of a global project which was signed a year and a half ago between TM Real Estate Group and the local authorities, contemplating the construction and improvement of primary and secondary schools so as to benefit a total of 550 students in the community.
This initiative is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility actions of TM Real Estate Group and its commitment to undertake projects promoting the right to education as a key tool for development and social change.
