TM collaborates with various organisations and bodies such as the Red Cross, the Torrevieja Town Council and local nursing homes, providing financial aid, donating agricultural products and supplying 2,800 kg of basic food products.
At TM we want to contribute our grain of sand to helping people overcome the current crisis. In collaboration with various bodies and organisations, we are working to meet the needs of people in vulnerable situations.
Among the initiatives we have launched are two dining rooms set up along Playa del Carmen in Mexico, where over 1,000 free meals are distributed daily to employees and families of hotels who are currently on a “solidarity break”. Monthly shopping vouchers amounting to €300 are being distributed along a daily food delivery route, and a call centre has been set up to meet other needs such as buying medicine and providing medical attention to children, among others.
In response to specific requests, economic and in-kind donations have also been made. Specifically, we have supplied oranges and lemons from our agricultural production to various homes for the elderly in Torrevieja, helping to assuage their most pressing needs. Another 150 kg of citrus fruits were donated to the local Red Cross in Torrevieja, and to the Town Council of Montesinos nearby.
In addition, in response to an appeal from the association for the handicapped AMFA Torrevieja and the municipal commissary, we distributed 2,800 kg of basic food products such as milk, cookies, rice, oil, pasta, legumes and water to over 200 families, totalling some 700 people and around 200 minors.
Furthermore, from TM we are contacting a variety of organisations and local bodies to continue our support, collaborating with joint efforts from the entire local society to alleviate urgent demands as much as possible, thus helping to build a new future for all of us. Because we are convinced that all together―each in our own way―we can contribute to overcoming the huge challenge we are faced with.
